TOURISM

Nature gave the Zamość Land the wealth of vegetation, rare and interesting animal species and the unique charm of the local scenery.

The Roztoczański National Park - a region with characteristic ranges of not very high hills grown with forests, is a must for all visitors. Mainly fir forests, the Carpathian beech forest and pine forests grow on the grounds. Besides beautiful age-old trees, the land offers about a hundred rare plant species, including 40 legally protected as, e.g.: the daphne, the snowdrop windflower, insectivorous sundews and several species of orchids. In those beautiful surroundings live about 160 fowl species and numerous species of mammals, mainly: the deer, the roe-deer, wild boars, stone martens, otters, badgers, beavers, wolves and lynxes. In 1982 the living once in Roztocze wild Polish ponies were restored to their original environment. The opportunity of hiking or cycling along the sign-posted trails of Roztoczański National Park and forests of Roztocze constitutes a great tourist attraction.

Three scenic parks: krasnobrodzki, skierbieszowski and szczebrzeszyński, established to protect the landscape and the outstandingly precious and unique nature, also provide an opportunity to admire the most beautiful spots of the Zamość land.
